Schrader’s Safehouse is the Washington State nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation that serves as the umbrella organization of our growing worldwide program properties operating as individual Schrader’s Safehouses.

The central office is at 3574 E Howe St, Tacoma, WA 98403. Our program can grow to a national scale at a very low cost and continue to support recovery without relapse. Many programs are struggling to find qualified housing to claim pre-approved funding towards helping many back to self sufficiency.

Schrader’s Safehouse is more than just housing, it’s a family. The house guidelines are from the guidance and experience of recovering alcoholics, PTSD survivors and drug addicts who learned behavior change is essential to recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. They also find Schrader’s Safehouse provides them a safe place to learn life on life’s terms, while joining a family-style environment to foster inclusion, abstinent behavior to stay clean helping more stay sober without relapse.

This positive approach continues to help people learn the skills needs for a healthy, stable life. This idea started over 30 years ago by Mr. Edward Schrader. The Schrader’s Safehouse Playbook© is our game plan for the tools and platform to encourage groups of recovering individuals to successfully live together, and support each other along the way. Schrader’s Safehouse is the parent entity for all future single-family houses in good neighborhoods. Schrader’s Safehouse supports men today; Schrader’s Safehouses for women are in the future. We do not plan on supporting co-ed houses.

The average number of residents per house is 10 with a range per house of 8 to 12.
